Signalling Record Society

FARSAP logo  Wilstrop Crossing

Wilstrop Crossing is still worked, on one shift at least, by a resident crossing keeper. It features the long standing tradition of using the red targets on the gates are the stop signal, there being no separate provision. Using red gate targets in this once commonly seen way is rapidly coming to an end as crossing swing gates give way to lifting barriers.

The geographic location of the signal box and crossing can be seen on a current OS Map. The map will place this location at the centre of the map panel, roll the mouse over the icon(s) to reveal what they represent. Increase the scale using the scale selector on the left to separate closely positioned icons.
