This collection, the first of three, comprises virtually the complete run of Signal Instructions issued by the Southern Railway and British Railways, Southern Region until issue was devolved to the Divisions in 1959. The notices are in PDF format and can be read by pretty well any computer, tablet or mobile phone.

The format of the Signal Instruction was derived from that previously used by the London & South Western Railway.

In 1923 the three sections continued their pre-grouping practices and only the Central and Western information survives. From 1924 the series covers the entire Southern Railway.

Initially nationalisation only changed the name in the heading but from March 1949 only major changes warranted a Signal Instruction with all other changes notified out in section C of the restyled weekly engineering notices.

Please note that these disks are produced to order.
