The third volume of John Swift’s layout plans of the 1950s moves us to former Great Central territory – the London Extension. We start from Pilsley and Clipstone before going southward to Nottingham and London Marylebone with a short excursion towards Banbury. The heritage Great Central Railways are shown in their BR guise.
Some parts of the Great Northern Railway in the Nottingham area are also in this volume. These take us from Pinxton and Mickleover via Derby to Rectory Junction on the way towards Grantham.
If you are not sure whether the location that interests you is in this volume or a different one, a combined index of all the locations in the series can be downloaded from our main web site entirely free of charge.
This is an A4 card covered book with, generally, more than 1 diagram per page.
