Part One of two of an article, area map and photos of the Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham electric railway, the first railway to employ overhead collection of 6.6kV A.C. at 25 cycles/second. From its introduction in 1908, the electrification system was owned by the S&T Department and included some possibly unique overhead line switching arrangements by the signalman at Lancaster No. 4 S.B. Views include at of Morecambe Promenade station in 1908 with a distant view of the front of the S.B. and several L.Q. Stop signals.
