This type GW3 box was built in about 1885 and a replacement Westinghouse type A2 frame of 44 levers (including 6 double wire levers, increased to 8 circa 1937) was installed in 1935. A further replacement 5bar VT frame of 49 levers was installed in July 1958. The box was renamed 'East' from 1917 until 27th May 1935 when West box closed.
