The highlight of the twelfth volume of John Swift’s layout plans of the 1950s is undoubtedly the ever popular and scenic Settle and Carlisle line. We join the route at Steeton and head for Skipton and then over the long drag all the way to Petteril Bridge.
The branch lines included in this volume reach Grassington and Ilkley Junction, Ingleton to Carnforth, Morecambe and Heysham, and round to Hawes.
Also within volume 12 are the former North Eastern Railway lines from Barras to Eden Valley and Tebay.
If you are not sure whether the location that interests you is in this volume or a different one, a combined index of all the locations in the series can be downloaded from our main web site entirely free of charge.
This is an A4 card covered book with, generally, more than 1 diagram per page.
